Vampire coke Bowie drops some serious funk on Dick Cavett in 1974, telegraphing his next move, the seriously underrated YOUNG AMERICANS LP. You can hear that he lifted the guitar riff of “Footstompin’” for “Fame”.

I love that his voice is completely shot here, it totally adds to it. The dancing girl is backup singer, Ava Cherry, his muse at the time, heh.
